It all started when…

Our founder would be planning surprise anniversary parties for her older siblings, surprise birthday parties for families and friends and even planning a ladies sangeet for her sister’s wedding from her early teen years.

In her early twenties, while she was working at a biotech company, she noticed the need to boost morale at her corporate job. She proposed hosting monthly lunches and seasonal team building events so that the team of scientists at her work would feel appreciated and reenergized. Management permitted her to organize one event which led to regular events.

Fast forward to many years later, a colleague asked to her raise funds for the Leukemia Foundation. After that, there was no turning back.

meet our founder… kim.. er Kamal… what is her name anyway??

So…let’s start with what is the founder’s name? Some call her Kim, some call her Kanwal, some call her Kamal.

She would love to stick with Kamal. When she moved to Canada at the young age of 6, she faced a lot of bullying and her name was often made fun of. So her Mom and Sister decided to give her a nickname - Kim. But this never resonated with her.

Fast forward to 2018 (many years later), her son was the reason she was able to take a stand and began to request everyone to call her by her shortened name used at home - Kamal. Thank you, in advance, for respecting her wishes ❤

Kamal has been the party planner for the family since she was young. Her love for making things beautiful, creating lasting memories, curating unique finds is what keeps her going in this company.

You will find her walking around events with an iPad, a clipboard and a smile on her face…all while putting out fires you don’t even know are there.

She is an Accredited Event Designer from IWED. She has also done a Fashion Design and Merchandising program from ICS Canada.

She is currently pursuing her Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from SFU and her Project Management Designation from PMI.

During her free time, Kamal can be found with with her darling son, family/friends or a good book.
